AbstractAnalysis of reasons for grounding flying personnel with urolithiasis showed that most of the professional pilots with the record of service of 19.7 +/- 1.3 yrs. had not been given treatment at the young age (mean age - 35.1 +/- 1.7 yrs.). After a course of treatment, more than 80% of the pilots got rid of renal stones and were cleared for flight duties. Therefore, timely treatment of flying personnel with urolithiasis minimizes medical discharge of pilots considering the high costs of air crew training.
